Painting #61: Carolina Marshes. (Finished.) + Weekend Update.

I feel like this should be on my truck. But I'm not sure what kind of guy I'd attract with that.

This is a tiny painting - it's an 8x10. I'm not really crazy about it because painting water is freaking hard but I wanted to practice depth, water, different colors, using different mixed media. Doing tiny practice paintings seems like a better idea than using a bunch of paint on a huge canvas and hating it. But I'm really enjoying working with pallet knives.

So I met a new friend and she's pretty awesome and gave me these canvases for free! It's hard to tell in the picture but they are both huge. The biggie is like 30somthingx20something. And the skinny one is 10somethingx20something. And I know exactly what I want to do with both of them. Mountains have been something I've been obsessed with lately in my paintings so that's what you'll be seeing. I started the skinny one last night.
